2010 Census Implications

Businesses and states have a lot at stake in getting an accurate count of the U.S. population. The Census will alter the flow of about $475 billion in annual federal aid for highways, airports, Medicaid, housing, federally backed business loans and more. Each gain or loss of 500,000 residents is worth about $1.5 billion to a state, a big increntive for states to make sure all residents are accounted for.
